Li Tie Qiao (born 23 September 1973 in Hunan province) is a Chinese composer and saxophonist/multi-instrumentalist. He mostly engages in experimental and free improvisation projects. In his improvisation he bravely experiment in search for a new expression between the boarders of jazz, rock and electronic noise.
As a child, he played bamboo flute. He went to music school where he learned trombone and played in a military band.
He moved to Beijing in 1995. Where he start to study alto saxophone by himself. He played in some experimental rock bands and established contact with a lot of avant-garde artists, poets and musicians in Beijing.
He moved to Norway in 2005 and was warmly welcomed by a number of Norwegian musicians. During his time in Norway he have played with Paal Nilssen-Love, Ingebrigt H?ker Flaten, Maja Ratkje, Ketil Gutvik, Rolf-Erik Nystr?m etc.
