中国女孩--在美国Arizona State University 获得音乐教育硕士学位--研习古筝20年--曾获多次古筝比赛奖项。一直尝试创作一种Jazz 风格的古筝曲--只是淡淡的一点柔情--不需矫情--坚信唯有质朴的音乐元素和纯正的乐器才是打动人心的真谛。

***Siyuan Luan (Lucy) , who has got the master degree of music education in Arizona State University, and played the traditional Chinese music instrument----Guzheng (zither) for more than 20 years. she has won many awards and try to find a Jazz Guzheng music style.
For her,it's the most important to use the real instruments and simple texture in order to create a touching flush music.
***Ben Dumbald,who's a great Jazz percussionist and diligent enthnomusicologist. He has also been enthusiastic about China and Chinese culture and music. 这个乐队名字是我在经历了好几个名字之后想到的，“丝”是string 又是我名字“思 ”的同音， “片” 象征Vibraphone 和 Marimba的琴键；言语自然就是心声的意思了。乐队的创意源于我对JAZZ音乐和古筝的热爱，一直想可以用古筝演奏JAZZ风格音乐，终于发现Vibraphone 和Marimba 与古筝的组合形式。创作的作品大多是我写好音乐，再请Ben 帮我配好和声，然后讨论大概的曲式。 The name was finally confirmed after several options. "Si" is one syllyble of my name as well as the pronouciation of "string" in Chinese. "Pian" means the keys of vibraphone and marimba. "Yan" and "Yu" both mean talking, therefor, the whole name means the story telling from our band. The setting was inspired by my tremendous enthusiasm of both Chinese traditional music and jazz music. It usually is me first come up with some melody and then Ben would arrange the chords,and work on the other things together. Lucy现在的工作室CRI轻松调频，下午节目轻松咖啡馆的主持人。 Lucy now is hosting Easy Cafe from 2:00-5:00 pm on CRI Easy FM.
